Sypnosis
Young Korean couple is settling in Saigon for work. They want a clean, minimalist, elegant and functional interior.
They need flexible space around the house to sit, not only to dine but also to work and relax comfortably. They do not need a lot of storage space in the house, preferring minimal yet efficient.
The husband loves cooking, hosting dinner, playing computer games and coffee. The wife does not like too much decoration and enjoys comfortable spaces to relax and watch Korean drama or to read.
Entry
The original challenge of the apartment was that the entryway opened directly onto a cluttered space under the stairs.
To maximize space and create a welcoming ambiance, the entryway features a dramatic dark paint scheme illuminated by sleek hanging LED lights. A tall cabinet system cleverly utilizes the space under the stairs, providing hidden storage for essentials before entering the main living area.
This versatile storage solution keeps the entryway clutter-free. Keys, bags, and shoes easily find their designated spots in the unit facing the door, while the generous space behind it can accommodate bulkier items such as cleaning supplies, golf bags, or electrical equipment.
Sitting areas
The first floor boasts a thoughtfully designed layout, offering a variety of seating options at different heights, settings and ambience to suit any occasion. This allows the couple to seamlessly transition between activities.
Imagine one partner preparing a meal in the kitchen while the other enjoys a beverage at the high counter, fostering connection even during individual tasks. On the opposite wall, a comfortable dining area with an integrated bench provides ample space for everyday meals and effortlessly expands to accommodate larger gatherings.
For work-from-home days, the open layout allows them to share the space comfortably, maintaining a sense of connection while still having dedicated zones for focused work or online meetings.
Living space
